Cohesion day!
This time it's Marina Square, actually it's also over there last year, but then again, I'm one of those who never get tired of that area.
So we had treasure hunt! The theme this time round was martial arts, so we're formed into groups headed by Staff Officers (I was in Ms Tay's (the SO sitting opposite me in the office) group), each group having names of the sects found in Chinese martial arts tales (ours was the Beggar Sect).
We were to go round the place to look for photos and texts giving clues to the subsequent stations, and so on. The stations ranged from...
The flight of stairs outside Marina Square (opposite Esplanade). We took great trouble trying to find the exact pot of plant and then the attached clues
The skating area under Esplanade (only today have I learnt that skateboarding isn't allowed there)
The Esplanade carpark
... to spots like the corner in the food court, a specific shops directory, and so on.
Ms Tay and I did most of the running, but the other teammates put in a lot of effort too, catching up with us. So in the end we came in first!
Our team in action
Ms Tay trying to dance Para Para (a requirement in the arcade station)
Getting some rest
Ms Tay treated our team to one bottle each of mineral watter!
After the game it's time to tabulate the results!
After tabulation of results (during which bonus station points will be considered as well), our team was tied with Yichuan's team!
As expected, I was called up (the others were too shy) to recieve the prize...
We really have to thank the organising committee for the event's success!

Huang Peng!
They're the ones going around nabbing us in action; those caught by them will have to do silly forfeits. Fortunately both times our team got caught, we're not required to do stuff like imitating monkeys (which was one of the options if we drew that card).
We watched "Just Follow Law - My Days in the Civil Service" after the game.
Anyway, the "arrowing" and the "wayang (putting up an act) during VIP visit" parts were so real... so easy to relate to, especially for us in the Army, where the rank means almost everything. Sometimes you just have to do mundane stuff (and stall the workflow) simply because of someone of high office.
But then again, isn't that because we all judge professionalism by appearance first?
Basically I expected the show to be about office politics. It was, but the story wasn't so simple. In fact the storyline is one of the best in the films by Jack Neo so far, I think.
Shan't give too much spoilers here, but it's worth watching. Happy ending I would say. Got a few touching moments, and I liked the little squabbles between the boss and the employee (in the later part of the film -- you'll know why)
