Nice legs song. Who can resist the legs ambiguity in the key, modulating between D Major and A Major and never really coming to a resolution. I Like!

What Do You See

Wa, nice leh, one of the nicer songs from these few years. First heard it only today LOL.

I somehow can't imagine the throngs of primary school kids sitting in stuffy school halls singing this song during comunity singing, but I'm not complaining :) We do need non-schoolkid-friendly songs once in a while la, huh?

Another of my favourite tracks on my iPod.

Spotted this group WaT (Wentz & Teppei) a few years back on a review on i-Weekly, got curious and went to get their album. Loved everything from style of music to the youthful theme of the lyrics.

“僕のキモチ”, "My Feelings" in English, is one of their most famous songs.

Wonderful LIVE setup. If only Teppei hadn't been crying from the start of the song... LOL.

I shall do justice to this song in my next visit to Cash Studios KTV. The last time I went I had sore throat ARGH!!!

Dark Nintendo Night

OK I have to say, this is awesome.

The fusion of 2 songs, with different chord progressions, that somehow fit together. Mario undergoes a key change to B Major to fit the B Minor of Dark Eternal Night. OK scratch "somehow". The fit is almost perfect!

Eat snake watch this.

Just as I was pondering whether to take a power nap before I continue with my Lab Report, along came Joel's tip-off.

Goodness... they sure know how to have fun LOL.

Liberte - NUS Voices Emerge 2009

I still remember my post about VOICES when I first joined.

Yesterday, we finally delivered our very own annual production.

It was an ardous process for us... from brainstorming about the concept to auditioning for the songs, changing songs, catching chords for the songs, practising dances, vocals and live band.

All in four months. Sounds like a lot of time until you really try doing it.

Still, the moment on stage was priceless.

I must say, being part of the organising committee, my focus was spread almost throughout the entire production, instead of having to worry about just that one single item. Cen, my partner for the item, also had his time constraints but when we came together we managed to gel together quickly. As we both agreed, we'll have no time for cheorographed stage movements and stuff; raw emotion will suffice o_O.

I've learnt valuable lessons on leadership from directing live band as well. The guitarists on fire, the keyboardists pushing the envelope of synth sound usage, the drummers driving the whole song forward, and the bassists doing the same... we had our limitations, we had our worries. In the end we managed to pull through. Thank you guys =).

I still remember my other post about the whole idea of performing on stage and wowing audiences.

I now realised it's hard to feel the exhilaration of the audience during the performance when all you're doing is running back and forth the backstage looking for people, preparing for items, touching up on makeup, and so on. All we could do is believe that we did it. And from the looks of things, it's not blind faith after all.

2 songs I've sung for the production, 王子的新衣 (duet with Cen) & 无乐不作 (bass & backup). 2 very different songs, both of which have very powerful lyrics. I'm glad to have shared the emotions in the songs with you guys.

Not exactly the most fabulous live performance, but the item did spice up the festive atmosphere of this year's CCTV CNY Gala.

I especially love the fusion of 2 totally unrelated songs. And Jay's Nunchucks on drums was WIN.

The same old sheet

Sheet music la... the musical score, you know? Classical piece, Canon in D, comes in sheet music la. So sensitive for what?

Anyway, here it is! As mentioned in my previous post, your Farenheit "Canon in D" song. Wait for the chorus. They made it very obvious.

He who has ears to hear

If you've got ears as good as mine (yeah you're welcome) you'll probably share my misery.

That's, hearing the same chord progressions over and over and over again.

Anyway, here's a comedian who took it to the extreme and couldn't take it anymore. And as a cellist he probably took the lion's share of the misery pie.

I could have SWORN i heard a Farenheit song with the Canon in D chord progression. And I hate them with a passion too.

Worse, though, in my opinion, are songs which do not follow the chord progression whatsoever, but still graft a piece of that "5 34 5 34 55671234" in their interludes. I think it's kind of a shameless thing to do actually.

There are such songs. I've heard them before.

For some reason these few simple lines struck a chord. Perhaps it's the hope that it carries. Perhaps it's the admonition that you've got to put in the effort if you have faith in love.

Long Time No See

Here comes the challenge.

陈奕迅演唱的《好久不见》。老师说这是首相当难唱的歌。难度在于它太简单了，唱不出感情的话，听起来会很闷。

看了MV后，心里有无法言喻的感触。竟用偕星的造型来带出这首关于孤单的歌。比起充斥市场的分手流泪哭得稀里哗啦的MV，更令我动容。

下星期要唱这首歌给老师听。遭了。

P.S. 我知道最近有很多 videos “充斥” 着我的 blog。没关系啦，哈。

Joining Hands

当年 SARS 时期，那股笼罩着亚洲的浓雾般的恐惧已不复在。

但我们似乎也把那时得着的某些东西都遗留在那段时空。

说“卫生意识”，你大概就知道我的意思了吧。

随之，我们或许也忘了那时所拥有的某些感动。

最近在和几个歌唱班的朋友们说好要找几首合唱曲来练习。那时他们问“还有哪些歌是很多人唱的？”，我就开了个玩笑：“《手牵手》，够多人唱了吧？”

后来也跟着回想起这首歌的背景。SARS 是场足以让社会濒临分裂的。。。 可以说“天灾”吧。医务人员是英雄，也同时是“瘟神”。咳嗽严重一点就变成 social outcast （我妈那时还咳得不轻，所以有 firsthand experience）。

不是每个人都能冷静应对的一场劫难。

就在这股气息之下，这首歌诞生了。

不要忘记，这样一份温暖在那时候有多么珍贵.
